Just wondering if anyone can recommend the best way to get Wet Okoles to Canada. Mainly concerned with UPS/FEDEX BS regarding fees etc- I live in Timmins, so the border is ~ 10 hours away, making a cross-border pickup not so viable.
Does anyone know of a Canadian supplier, or any other reasonable alternative? I've heard the brokerage fees from UPS/FEDEx can be in the ballpark of 70%!!! For my seat covers the estimated price was in the $600.00 USD ballpark, so obviously I want to avoid a 70% f*@#$ng brokerage fee! (why does it seem like we still get the shaft in Canada, even after NAFTA?) Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

They shipped mine via parcel post, if I remember correctly. All I had to do was ask. They took a while but they got here! I only had to pay tax at the post office.
Cheers
Sounds like the way to go! Can't wait- everyone who owns the Wet Okoles said they're worth every penny. I've got a black lab who's my left hand on my canoe trips up here, and I only want the best for her. Credit to Fjoel once again, and here's a link to the Wet Okole web site for others who're interested.

Re: Wet Okole seat covers...
Finally an alternative to having to wait and hope to get in on a group buy! Now if only the rest of my sourcing for interior mods could be solved like this.
Thanks Bender and Joel!

I too ordered mine and asked them to ship USPS, just like Joel it took an extra 3 or 4 days to get here but I paid $5.60 when I picked them up instead of the $40 or $50 that UPS would have charged.....

Joel deserves the cred here- but I appreciate what you're talking about! I don't understand why Canadians are still getting raped with ridiculous brokerage fees in the NAFTA-era... Hopefully other forum members will post with other cross-border shipping success stories!
I want Wet Okole as well. My leather seats wouldn't hold as long as I wanted them to. May be we can make a group buy or at least save on shipping if Ontario or Toronto memebrs want a set as well.

I'm still waiting for mine to come in- ordered about three weeks ago, but I don't know if group buying is necessary with USPS delivery, as the overall shipping cost is only around ten bucks; you just have to be willing to wait. Also, I'm all the way up in timmins! Too far to drive for seat covers!
If you want to group buy, as far as I'm concerned, that means you want to be placing all your mod orders at about the same time, all by parcel post- then you will get everything at about the same time!
I'll post again when they come in to give a final cost and time on delivery.
Just got them in! Installation took a little over two hours in the rain, but I already think they were worth the wait and the work. A little pricey, but if they're half as durable as I've heard, they should be worth the money!

How much did they cost you and what was the shipping, taxes, duties,...?
