MSRP the best deal???

I was told today By a salesman in Edmonton, AB that toyota has a new policy in Canada to sell at MSRP and never lower. some equal pricing deal wouldn't let me use parents fleet classification either. I think i was fed BS but just thought i better check this out.
They also told me there is no such thing as a Trail Teams SE too so i think this dude didn't know F* all.

New policy in Canada, eh? While i call bs, all you have to do is call some other dealer and ask about the price on a corolla or something. That is unless the guy was trying to say it was just on FJ's. Talk to another salesman as well.

It's been like that in Québec for about 5 years if your lucky you get a free oil change I couldnt even get the lighter when I bought mine. Good luck getting the price down.

Re: MSRP the best deal???

Yeah, I think that is BS...you can still get under MSRP in Ontario without any issues.

Re: MSRP the best deal???

I got $1000 off MSRP in December '06, I was told by the woman who was doing the paper work that I was the first one to get less than MSRP at that dealership on an FJ. It took some time and a little back and forth but I eventually got it even though they had "no haggle pricing".

Re: MSRP the best deal???

I am going to use my brother in laws broker in Calgary. He can get me a TT SE with a TRD supercharger and anything else in options. Last FJ (C package 5AT) he brokered he sold it for 2000 less msrp including his fees. The dealership here won't order my supercharger or install it.

Good luck getting that TT SE with a TRD supercharger in Canada. My money says it snows in Florida before that happens.
