Vancouver (area) Wheeling trip - March 29th UPDATED

I am posting this in the Canadian thread as suggested by an FJ member.

Hey FJ people. I am organizing a wheeing day in the lower mainland with a bunch of Xterra owners and was wondering if there are any FJ owners that would like to join us!!!

The list is looking good......6 rigs for sure and 3 maybes.
SO far:
1. Bueller44
2. Hazmat888 (newx.org)
3. AndrewJ (newx.org)

5. VA7XS - maybe? (newx.org)
6. Sauerkraut (XOC)
7. RoughRoad (XOC)
8. FJKoji - 2008 Fj Cruiser from the FJ Cruiser Forumn
9. FJKoji's buddy, also and FJ Cruiser - Maybe
10. FJoel - maybe

I'm picking a date for us to try and get some rigs together for some wheeling. Again, nothing hardcore, want to keep it fun and safe for stock rigs and for those of us that still have to pay for these beasts.

Last run we had 3 Xterras - would like to see that increase by at least another 3.

Last run we attempted to get out onto the Harrison Forestry Road. We didn't get far but had lots of fun in the 2' deep snow.
Link to last trip:
http://thenewx.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=8114

We could try the same area and hopefully there will be a bit less snow.

Date: Saturday, March 29th, 2008
Time: Meet at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Not sure - Sasquatch Inn on #7 highway in Harrison Mills

I will eventually PM everyone too!!

Any interest????
Mike

You're killin' me! I go there all the time. I'm even on holidays! But I have a busted rear diff, right now.
Maybe next time...

Re: Vancouver (area) Wheeling trip - March 29th

I'm heading out that way tonight! Going all the way up through to Pemberton, up the Hurley (if we can) to Gold Bridge, then onto the Mud Lakes and Poison Mountain. I'll post a trail report when I return. We will likely stop at the first site we see since it is dark, and continue in the daylight. Be back Monday.

I am not sure I will be able to make it with you guys but I will try again...

Cheers

Okay I am back early.

Road is still snowed in... We made it to just past the Mystery Forest Service Road and then turned back and camped. There were quite a few rigs trying to climb the snow covered incline with varying levels of success. My FJ broke all the records thanks to the ATRAC, and at times, locking rear diff. Still never made the dang hill!

Was definitely fun though. I'm supposed to go dirtbiking with my old man next weekend but he hasn't set a day yet. I'll shoot for Sunday, but we'll see. That was too fun not to do again!

Blew the rear diff on the FJ. It's all good. I needed lower gears anyway.

Well, Mystery FSR is alot further than we made it at the beginning of Feb. There is talk of heading down Hale Creek FSR, so it looks like we can get at least that far.
Hope to see you there.
