Anyone have info on....

Moving from the US to Canada? My hubby and I are seriously contemplating this. We don't have family there or anything, and I just can't seem to find any helpful information online as far as the process of moving there legally...

Re: Anyone have info on....

Alberta is where the money is......But out east we have a saying " You have to be here to get it"

Get ready to jump through a pile of hoops....I tried to move to the states about ten years ago and it was nuts...And they say moving here is tougher.......One immigration guy asked me if I knew any american women I could marry to speed things up.......lol...Needless to say I gave up eventually. Its a fun place to visit though.....

I love this story..... I was in Ohio visiting friends and one of their friends asked me how many drive-bys we would have in a year in my area.....I told her that in New Brunswick a "drive-by" involves three guys driving around in the fall wearing orange and each with a licensed rifle and a six pack......And some poor unsuspecting STOP sign they take out their hunting frustrations on at the end of the day.....lol

Come out east.......

Re: Anyone have info on....

The fast way to get into Canada Legally?

a) Be a doctor

b) Have profession Canada is looking for

c) Be willling to breed like a rabbit to boost the population that will be supporting the baby boomer generation in retirement.

d) Claim you are a refugee
Things that don't work
- I sing -- my country persecutes singers
- I'm protesting the war my country is in (this used to work)

Things that do work
- fly in from overseas, destroy your passport on the plane, declare you are refuge when you land and you have amnesia
where to fly to: Montreal -- they will put you up in a hotel
where not to fly to: Toronto -- they will throw you in jail until you are cleared
Vancouver -- they will taser you then throw you in jail
e) Just drive up and stay
Fitting in:
- requires you to pronounce words differently or you will be outed
- throw eh at the end of most of your sentences
- requires you to give away 50+ % of you income to taxes with a smile
- say 'damn americans' when you watch the news - even though you dont mean it

But most of all -- dont listen to me or you will never get in........

Re: Anyone have info on....

If it weren't for the taxes, I'd consider spending some time up north
