Dog owner question

Just a weird question for dog owners, does your dog get spooked by the heavy roar of your FJ when it starts up?

Mine does, she still gets in to roll with me and everything, but I think she's a little nervous around the FJ! Kinda funny, wondered if anyone else out there had noticed the same thing.

Re: Dog owner question

Never a problem. They keep their heads out the back while screaming down the highway. TRD exhaust too. Mind you, they are use to a roaring 350 w/edelbrock carb and straight pipes.

Is she jumpy in other situations?

Re: Dog owner question

Nope, not usually too jumpy at all- maybe her problem is I used to drive a Ford Escape, and compared to that, maybe the FJ is a little scary!

Re: Dog owner question

I want a dog! Try combining the roar of the car with a pleasant stimulus like being pet or a treat. Eventually she'll associate the roar with a pleasant feeling and not be jumpy.

Mine loves it, he just lays down in the back, sleeps and snores...

Re: Dog owner question

Nope. However, we have an e-fence and the receiver on his collar sounds very close to what the beepers do on the FJ for backing up, unlock/lock, seatbelt, etc. - when he's riding in the FJ with me and one of those beeps go off, he braces himself for possible shocking.
