As usual, the best made plans of mice and men often go astray, and attempting to formulate a contingency plan in the event the demise of mine continues.
Not a request for assistance, at this point, but a precursor.
Due to extenuating circumstances, I'm shipping the PP80 to Boulder to, hopefully, arrive 10/26-10/29 for major service that "should" take 5-7 days.
The issue is, it's come down to the wire and will be finishing, literally, a day or two before the shop closes through the New Year, to work out of town.
My predicament is attempting to either fly in, or arrange for return transport, within the few day window that it initially appears I'll have to coordinate, without knowing the exact day it'll complete.
At the absolute most, my request would be to pick up the 80 from said shop until either myself, or the transporter, could arrive.
Hoping it would be easy for one of y'all I "know" and only asking it of those. I'd be indebted and we all know how it comes back around.
Anyhow, if there's someone in the Boulder area that wouldn't mind being on call, I'd greatly appreciate knowing that even in a worst case scenario, this aspect is covered.
Thanks ,
Chris

Re: Possible Assistance Request/Contingency Plan
If you just need a place to park it, it could sit at my house.
If you want someone to drive it home to OK, and you fly me back here, I'll do that too (i.e. not sure if you were signaling that you might not be able to come up here, or just that you're not sure if you could get here in time).
Just a wild guess, shipping to Robbie A. to have him do the head gasket?
Or did you break some stuff?
Originally, was shipping diffs for regear and TC for refresh and crawler gears but in talks with Robbie, decided it'd be the best time to do HG, the obligatory lower seals (they've seeped a minimal amount) and axles "while I'm in there".
Had planned to drive up and spend a couple of days, but it was wishful thinking due to unforeseen circumstances and wasn't as time critical until his winter work plans cemented with Onur.
Robbie's running a chase truck for the Baja 1000 and this has to be done and gone before he leaves for. He knows, probably better than anyone on the planet, how long it's going to take, so hoping timing will be perfect, but preparing for the worst case scenario.
