I bent mine up pretty badly on my recent vacation up to the mountains. I do not think I can pound it back out. Does anyone know of a stock OEM skid plate hanging around the Denver Metro area unused.

Would be interested.
PM me if you know of anything.
I threw mine away a couple of weeks ago. I do have the OEM gas tank skid though.
I am sure someone has their OEMs laying around. Good luck!
The black one? The one UNDER the bling skid? I have one...currently housing spiders in my garage.
I am referring to the front-end (aluminum I think) skid plate that comes with stock vehicles. I have not seen it in black (only in the silver) but maybe have not noticed.
Can I take a run up there to check it out? If so, PM me, I am in Lafayette so a quick drive up.
I think we are talking about different skids...all (I think) FJs come with a black metal skid that bolts to the frame and a cross-member. SOME FJs come with a silver aluminum skid often referred to here as the "bling" skid.
When you install All Pro or MAF or some other after market skid, both are removed. I have the black steel one; I already sold the "bling" skid.
I have to go to a funeral today...when I get back I can take a pic of the skid I have; or you are welcome to come over and look at it.
As long as we're talking about the plates that come from Toyota, there really should be no confusion as to which plate is in question.
Yes. All FJs come with those thin, black splash plates from the factory as defaults (listed as 'skid plates' in the Toyota description, but really only good to protect against things bouncing up and hitting the underside while driving).
There are two of these thin, black, sheet metal plates up front and mid (one for the engine area and one for the transfer case area), and then a thin, black, plastic plate for the gas tank.
The thicker (~1/4"), silver/grey, aluminum plate up front (which sits outside of the thin black metal one with special brackets and long spacers) is an optional component (standard on the TTSE). It is often referred to as the 'bling plate' because many folks think it is worthless, but it has come in quite handy to poor folks like my self that can't afford (or justify) purchasing a set of skid plates quite yet - though we really want to) on more than one occasion.

The black "skids" went all the way back to the transfer case? Or is it they cover the front diff area and the oil pan?

Well, I may have completely miss spoke on that one.
All I know is that there are two metal ones and one plastic one, and that with this combination, all major components (other than the front and rear diff) are covered somehow (by these or by a big cross-member) - at least for the sake of the 'bounce-up' protection idea.
I think that both diffs are open to the world below.
