Need Help With '13 TT Order Options....

I am going to be getting a 13 TT but need some help with options.... I really like the parking Sonar feature is this only factory installed option or can it be done at the dealer?? Also what other options are good to get?? I was thinking about the Cat back exhaust and the towing package. What do you guys think???

Re: Need Help With '13 TT Order Options....

i havent needed a sonar feature since it has the camera. but to each his own.
not sure if that is factory or done at the port.

towing package can be done cheaper yourself but i would get it. installed or DIY.

dont have an opinion on the cat back exhaust. doesnt interest me enough to pay for it.

The catback and tow pack are great, but you will literally pay $1500 plus to purchase and install at the dealer where the parts discounted are less than $650 if you easily install them yourself

Re: Need Help With '13 TT Order Options....

My 2013 TT arrives on the 14th and I was planning on adding the following.

Passenger Side Armrest Invoice cost = 75.00 MSRP = 125.00

All Weather Floor and Cargo Mat Invoice cost = 120.00 MSRP = 200.00

Tow Hitch & Harness Invoice cost = 240.00 MSRP = 349.00

TRD Exhaust Invoice cost = 360.00 MSRP = 550.00

I got the info from Edmunds but I'm not sure if labor to install is included in the prices.

Not a bad idea, FJ have a pretty slippery floor so a good mat is always a good option. Could maybe be found cheaper online somewhere
Tow Hitch & Harness Invoice cost = 240.00 MSRP = 349.00

TRD Exhaust Invoice cost = 360.00 MSRP = 550.00

If you have tire shop connections you could get all the TRD stuff at cost maybe a little markup which is still cheaper than the dealer touching it.

Not trying to bash you at all, just giving the OP options to think about.

Are these options already on the vehicle at the dealer or are you ordering this?

Parking sonar isn't necessary unless you like noise. The backup camera has a grid system which makes it extremely easy to back up. like someone said, its personal preference.

exhaust would be a good selling point if you can get them to put it on for free as a perk to buy the vehicle since it will only cost the dealer maybe $400.

I don't know anything about the Towing system. i don't know what its rated for or if its just as good as an aftermarket. hopefully someone else will chime in.

Re: Need Help With '13 TT Order Options....

I have an 08 TTSE with an aftermarket tow hitch and TRD exhaust. I love the exhaust!

I think all that the OP has listed is port or dealer installed options.

I personally wouldn't lump any of them into the price. All can be done cheaper and better after the fact.

you can get a good deal on any TRD parts from vendors on this site. Any muffler shop can hang a cat-back for you no problem.

floor mats...easy.

armrest...easy

tow hitch, many aftermarket ones (or go with Toyota) and easy to install.

I'm not sure why you would think I would take your post as "bashing me" I provided Toyota dealer invoice cost and you posted EBAY possible selling prices and your opinion. No worries.

Thanks for the input.
