What is Dealer Invoice on BASE Price???

hey does anyone know what the "dealer invoice" is on the BASE price of the FJ (4wd/Auto)?
i've seen two different MSRP's for that model of 23,500 and 23,700 and am curious what the invoice is....
thanks

Re: What is Dealer Invoice on BASE Price???

Toyota just authorized a $200 price increase at the beginning of the month, which may explain the difference of the two MSRP. Before the last price increase the invoice cost to the dealer was $21,385. Assuming Toyota passed the $200 increase to both MSRP and invoice the latest invoice should be $21,585. The dealer stands to make $2,115 profit on the base price (options, accessories, document fees will improve the dealer profit margin). There may be volume promotional concessions to dealers that are unpublized, but I don't know that for sure.

Re: What is Dealer Invoice on BASE Price???

thanks KLD. you've been very helpful on a number of occasions.

knowing that amount has really helped me run some numbers. for some reason i couldn't find dealer invoice on the base price.

on that note, the dealer i ordered from said they charge "1500 above invoice" on spec cars, which i thought was pretty reasonable considering the hype (not to mention bull****) associated w/ the FJ.

"bull****" ...meaning trying to order what you want and not having to settle for something already ordered as is sitting on some lot somewhere. anyway.....

i ordered:

conv. pack 1472
upgrade2 2069
TRD exhaust 360
roof rack 425
r. boards 276
tow hitch 240
side airbags 559
--------------------
total invoice for options= 5401.00
+ 21,585.00 invoice base price
--------------------
26,986.00 (total dealer invoice)

+ "1500 over invoice"
--------------------
28,486.00

+ 605 destination (approx)
--------------------
29,091.00 (MY COST BEFORE TAX/LIC.)

butt...he quoted me "29,477.00" which is 386.00 more.

wonder what i'm missing???

$386.00 should cover a round of golf, some bevies and a steak dinner for the GM and sales person.

Kelley Blue Book Works for me they have a very extensive options so you can price a vehicle on the lot and come within $50 of sticker price and they give you invoice price also.

Re: What is Dealer Invoice on BASE Price???

You shouldn't be paying anymore than $500 over invoice on the FJ period.

I agree with this statement. Just picked up a new VB FJ from Power Toyota in Tempe, AZ. Wanted Black Cherry, but hey, they were having a sale on the blue. $500 over invoice is just about what I paid.
