Do you guys think this is a good deal on a FJ?

Hello:

As posted in the "for sale" section my scion xb has been sold. Next up....FJ Cruiser.

I was quoted $27,500 with the following equipment:
4x4
Auto
CQ, UR, GY, CF
Dealer will install tow hitch, roof rack, and spare tire cover (basically C7).

What do you guys think? Can I do better, or is that a good deal? I'm willing to go almost anywhere for the right price (will factor in my travel expense).

Kind Regards,

Joe

Re: Do you guys think this is a good deal on a FJ?

OTD price? If so, I say you have a competitive offer. Without knowing where you are at, I cannot say for certain as will others based on their experiences/knowledge of that area.

Plus, if not OTD, some areas have low taxes and fees, so probably not a big deal. Other states/areas, have huge taxes and fees, so if $27.5k is not OTD, then maybe not so great as if they have high taxes / fees you could still end up paying over $30k.

In my area, you could have an FJ as you specified for about $27.5k OTD. For UR2 (upgrade pkg#2), roof rack, tire cover, rails, etc. for roughly $27.5k or just under less taxes and fees.

Re: Do you guys think this is a good deal on a FJ?

I should've added a bit more detail...

I researched it on edmunds, and the msrp is $30,821, and the invoice price is $27,208 (includes destination). So it's about $300 above invoice.

I would still need to tack on state sales tax, and plate fees, etc.

So, isn't that good? $300 above invoice.

I don't think I can find anyone who would sell it below the invoice price (vast majority).

I'm in the Chicago area.

Re: Do you guys think this is a good deal on a FJ?

I got the following FJ for $27,600 + TT&L in August '06:

Voodoo Blue, 4x4, 5sp AT, CQ, GY, UR #2, C7, Z2, Roof rack, Tow Pkge, 17" Alloys

I researched Edmunds and it said that it was about $700-800 over invoice.

There was a post today of a guy selling a lifted FJ on here with 2000 miles for 24K. It looked like a hell of a deal.
