I may have been born at night, but it wasen't last night

Driving to the mall today I passed the Mitsubishi dealership and to my disbelief they had a FJ!

So I pull in and start to take a look at when a dealer rolls by in his little golf cart. He gets out and starts to tell me how sweet then new FJ's are (Duh). Next thing I know I am on a test drive where he continues to tell me about how the Rear Diff. locker and A-trac work (Duh again). So we start talking price and you would think that everything is gold plated.

Basically, They want 29,900$
for:
-Black Diamond w/ 7200 miles
-6 speed Manual
-Roof Rack
-Skid plates and Rock Sliders
-Inclinometer
-Crack in the windshield covered with one of those little chip stickers
-A-Trac, Rear Diff locker and rear Parking sensors

Am I out of my mind or is that about the price I would pay for a brand new one? I was wondering what you guys thought would be a reasonable counter-offer because I really want to get it.

Thanks guys!

Thats more that I payed for mine new. Your market may be different than here in the Southeast. But thats just a crazy amount.

Counter with 21K

Ask him what he thinks the windshield will cost to replace. With his answer we can see how much BS he is full of.

That's way too much.

Dealers will try and push everything as far as they can and you have to assertively counter the $21K (previous post) seems like a reasonable counter offer.

I wouldn't touch it unless they replace the windshield and come down 6k.

sounds like it is has package b and would be close to that new so minuse a cracked windshield being used and all of that I say 21K counter sounds about right. I wouldn't pay more then 25k for it and that is pushing it.

everyone seem to agree. 21k. mine was less than what they are asking for. ask them about a new windshield and it is also a used vehicle.

I'm not sure where you're located (guess maybe I could check your profile), but I've noticed that most of the dealers here in Denver have their used FJs priced at or more than the original MSRP, even with as much as 12,000 miles ... it's just plain crazy (imo), I'd buy new.

$29.9K w/cracked windshield and 7.2K miles? Are there a bags of cocaine stuffed in the headliner?
