Re: A dealer offered me this.....

I plan to keep looking for sure. In the earlier days of the internet there was no bs when doing a deal through e-mail with a fleet manager. Now they try to nail you with the price they'd offer anybody that walked onto the lot and see if you're stupid enough to take it. I just ended it there and said I'd keep looking. I didn't even make a counter offer, because they are just trying to hose me from step 1.

Re: A dealer offered me this.....

yeah, that happens. My dad does interiors and custom jobs for a lot of dealerships and one just happens to be the Toyota i bought the FJ at. He knew the fleet manager well and got a no hassle deal. Your best bet is to be looking at least at two dealerships and have them compete if possible, or know someone working there, ha.

Just to let you should be able to get a '07 left over for the invoice price. I bought a second '07 FJC back in Aug. for invoice. Things have changed a lot since June 2006 when I bought my first FJC. It was hard finding any dealer selling below MSRP and I thought I was doing good getting $500 off list!

Don't forget, it's almost 2 years since the FJC first hit the streets so times have changed. When it first came out it was super hot, supply was limited, and the dealers knew that and some were charging more than MSRP for it and people were buying. So it's apples verses oranges between now and then.

No I just meant that I just bought my 08 in October and paid less than what his delaer offered him on an 07 leftover. Unless I read it wrong which could be. It is quite possible the coffee didn't kick in yet.

You should have taken it.. 400 over invoice in our Market is a great deal.. You should get the 750.00 rebate though. Toyota is offering it on all ramaining 2007 till the end of the month..

I don't why PROFIT is a bad thing on this forum.. Don't you go to work to get paid so you can afford the FJ? Think about this guy selling the vehicle to you.. He is only getting paid 25 to 35% of what Profit is OVER INVOICE. How much do you think is making on that 400.00 over invoice?

Be reasonable and fair.. 400 is a deal I wouldn't offer to you.. If is isn't making at least 3% it doesn't sell. And we sell every one we get for a lot more.

Re: A dealer offered me this.....

I'm not going to argue on the other one. I read prices lower than that in the paper from the dealer who typically overcharges people. I checked it out and they were legitimately $1000 less. They were still making a profit though. I have no problem with a company making a profit. I do have a problem with them trying to make huge profit on overstocks when they should seem a bit more willing to get it off the lot was all. No worries though. To each their own.

How about this deal instead? A 2007 used Voodoo Blue with 2,400 miles on it for $23,995 + TTL. It has automatic but no roof rack (which I didn't want anyway). It is used though. Comes with package 2. It is in a town a few hours away so I haven't gone to look at it. I've been e-mailed pictures though and it does look brand new.

Thoughts? I need to move quick I think if I'm going to get this one because of the low mileage is my thought. Maybe the price is not that great for one that has been titled before though and is "used". I'm not so sure.

Any info would be much appreciated.
