Back from Dealer...should I buy?

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a 2008 2WD Sun Fusion FJ Cruiser.

Here is the deal...
Base
Upgrade Package #1
Roof Rack
Weather Mats
Convenience Package
Toyo Guard
Passenger Arm Rest
Black Step Bar

Total with all taxes, tag, and fees is $26800 out the door.

Is this a good deal? Also...I am hesitant about 2wd. I would like the 4WD but there is no similar deal around.

Is similar price in 4x4 possible?
I am a twice in a row owner of a Honda Element thinking of making the change to FJ. Any thoughts/opinions out there?

Re: Back from Dealer...should I buy?

Not sure where your at but here you can beat or at least meet that on a 4x4.
If your really wanting the 4x4 wait it out or look for a better deal on an 07. Im sure there are still some out there and they are the same veh. (for the most part) and you will save alot of $$. I gave 25k even for a 4x4 07 with everything you stated less black step back in august 2007.
Only my opinion.... (and it's not worth much).
good luck and hope you find whats right for YOU!

Re: Back from Dealer...should I buy?

Ok So this isn't what you want to hear...

A 4x2 FJ is like having Tits on an Boar, what good is it.. If you need to be in that price range to afford a FJ, wait a little save the extra money to make it work and get the 4x4.. You will only hate yourself later and then try to trade it off and loose your shirt.. Don't do it...

I can't even figure what and why Toyota makes any Off Road Vehicle 4x2...

Hold out for the 4x4. Even if you never take it off road you'll be glad you got the 4x4. My $0.02. Can't advise on price I'm a Canuckle head.

Re: Back from Dealer...should I buy?

I can't say if that's a good price or not. What is the difference from invoice? My opinion, for what it's worth, is most markets should be possible at invoice plus $500.

Good luck...

Re: Back from Dealer...should I buy?

In all reality, the dealer will charge, on average, $3500 more for the 4x4. But that's why they are called dealers....haggle and get the 4x4, I still have no idea why Toyota even decided to make the FJ in a 4x2.

Re: Back from Dealer...should I buy?

Welcome Aboard!

I would wait and get a 4x4, much happier in the long run.

That's about how much I got my 2007 4x4 Sun Fusion for out the door except mine came with only has the alloy wheels and all-weather floor mats.
