Thumbs up My recent purchase experience

Now is definitely the time to buy BRAND NEW! I found used FJ's with mileage in the 20,000 mile range for around $23k and was able to get a brand new one with better options for only a small amount more. IMHO, it is worth a couple thousand dollars to have a brand new 0 miles vehicle. I am so excited! Here is how my deal went down:
There are three Toyota dealers near me so I just called them all up and played the game. $500 below invoice was easy to obtain so I pushed harder and the results were simply amazing. I was TOTALLY prepared to walk away as there were three dealers with the vehicle all saying they will not lose a chance at a sale of the FJ. I even went to leave and they followed me to my car. Two dealers were going head to head right in front of my eyes via cell phone. I was totally above board and told both dealers what I was doing and they were both really cool. In the end, I took the silver because I was nervous about scratching up the brick and my wife was not 100% behind the tan. Part of me really wanted an 08 specific color but damn this Ti color os so damn good looking. Sorry for the long post but I am so fired up about this new beast! It looks killer with the off road package and convenience packages and I am SO glad that I was not forced into those upgrade packages for around $2800! Yes, I miss the passenger armrest and radio controls on the wheel but with the money I saved I can get a really nice stereo plus a bunch of other little upgrades. Please, get off your computer and go buy one right now. I have not been this excited about a car in a long time. The low price, reliability, perfect fit for two big child seats, performance and smoking good looks sealed the deal for me.

That is awesome, I'm glad you're pumped! How low below invoice did you get and what part of Tennessee did you haggle in if you don't mind me asking?

Re: My recent purchase experience

With the trade it is hard to say but based upon carmax trade in offer it came out to about $25k for an 08 Off road and both convenience packages and mats. Retail was $29,372 or close to that. I simply could not walk away from that deal. Of course the dealer probably can sell my trade for much more than I got for it. The bottom line is that if you are happy with your deal...then you got a good deal. Trades are always hard to know what kind of deal you are really getting. Just go buy one now! I am going off road in 10 hours and again on Sunday! Can't wait!!!!!!
