Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

Does anybody know of a dealer in the NorCal area that is willing to deal on a Trail Teams FJ? I was thinking $1,000 above invoice.

I saw one in Davis. Good luck on getting it a $1000 over invoice.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

They are dealing on almost any SUV at any dealer right now, SUV sales in particular are dismal at the moment.

Your best bet if you don't have the time to search around for a vehicle at different dealers is to use a broker or you will end up paying more if the dealer is having to swap vehicles around to other dealers to get the one you want.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

FYI, when I purchased my TT in So Cal a few weeks, we tracked down every dealer from Central Cal to San Diego. No dealer would discount on the TT SE.
IMHO, its worth every dollar. Good luck in your search.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

I did some research and used the local dealers against each other. Out of the 7 dealerships I talked to, only 2 were willing to discount the TT. Both of these dealerships did NOT have the TT Edition in stock but were willing to swap some vehicles with another local dealership to make the transaction happen. It was the end of month and both dealerships seemed pretty anxious as i'm sure they were looking to hit their monthly numbers. I put a $100 down and it took them less then 24 hrs to find a TT (They completed a swap with a dealership 70 miles away!! They sent one of their service guys to pick it up!!!) . I got it for $2500 under MSRP. Considering that there were only 4 TT Editions in Norcal at the time, I feel lucky to have even received any discount. To be quite honest, I would've been this happy if I payed MSRP. It's fun and it definitely has the AWE factor!!!

If you like a will broker your deal for a C note and if I can not get your desired result, you won't pay! Let me know.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

My dealer is currently saying $28k + fees, but I expect that is a way to drag me in to the dealership. The next item was "if I can get it" and his final email said "found one 400 miles away, call me". I'm emailing him right now, I don't want to have to deal with sales technique until I absolutely have to.

With the inner fender cracks I am still somewhat reticent anyway.

If he's not trying some stupid game and I decide I don't want it I'll post his details.

CarsDirect.com say they'll get it for under $29k, but I don't set any store by that.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

There's two near my house in Las Vegas for $33k. They've been there for about three weeks now, so I imagine you could work a deal. Make a weekend out of it and break your new ride on on the way home.

Re: Want to buy TT SE in NorCal

Try Matt Wiegman at Alameda Toyota on 510 522 5400 ext 743, or make the obvious substitutions in the email address below. He claims he can get one TT from out of state for $28k + fees (which fees exactly though).

Good luck! I'd be interested to hear if it really all works out.
