Re: Pics of my bumper

Wow buddy a little uptight are we. Take a deep breath and relax. I am sure Jason will take care of you he runs a good shop and looks after his clients, but I am sure being rude like this post is coming off as will not help your rep or there response. Try emailing this to them directly so they get it sooner and can deal with it (there not on here all day). I now if I ran a shop and some one was being a jerk I would go twice as slow. Good thing Jason is a better shop owner then me.

Re: Pics of my bumper

Sorry but this is only half the story. But since you asked. I order this bumper in August. On the first week of November I was billed on my credit card. My bumper didn't arrive till mid December. 4 months to get it in. I was aggrevated over the wait but still excited to finally have my bumper. Then I unwrap it and find the powder coat damage. I decide to ignore it since I wanted to get it on the truck. I mounted the winch and then went to mount the lights and found the problems with that. (This is after I called DO to see why I only received lights and no wiring or relay. I was told that was sold seperately. Something that was not mentioned when I ordered the bumper.) After all this I go to mount it with 2 of my friends and we can't get it on.

So, lets see.....

I'm out of $1,300, my FJ isn't driveable, oh yeah and I've been waiting on this for 4 months. Put yourself in my shoes and see if you wouldn't be a little "uptight"

Re: Pics of my bumper

When shipping something that heavy and unwieldy, it is extremely likely that it will be dropped at least once, and that some powder coat may be rubbed off of protrusions (like the recovery points). My bumper was, even though it was very well wrapped by DeMello. A judicious application of the 2-lb. heep wrench (sledge hammer har har) easily put my bumper back into perfect alignment, and some rattle-can flat black primer touched up the bare spots perfectly.

Re: Pics of my bumper

I understand your frustration Blaise having your truck torn apart and sitting in your driveway. I hope you get this all sorted out with expedience. As far as I've heard on the forum (and in my own experience with Dems sliders), Jason runs a straight up outfit so I'm sure they'll be able to rectify the situation to your satisfaction.

Your frustration is understandable. DeMello has a huge following and they keep the shop quite busy. But I agree 100% with Landrover, Jason will take very good care of you.

Re: Pics of my bumper

I see where Blaise is coming from though, the packing and the shipping is not his responsibility. If it is so common to have wear in tear during shipping I think the packing could be better. Now if it was a push mower from Sears I could put up with some damage or mis-alignments. 1,300 Is not something I can offord to hit with a Sledge, some my have that money but I sure don't.

But Jeshua is right also, the vendors here are very reputable people and I am sure if given the chance DO will make it right.

Re: Pics of my bumper

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I got one of the first Demello bumpers, and everything fit fine. The early ones didnt have the light mounts so i just made my own and found ones that fit. I understand being pissed about it, but making a post like that seems a little unneccessary. Im sure Jason will take care of it....

When I got mine it was packaged great, but it still had some powdercoat off it in same areas. It wasn't from bad packing as so much just being shipped from one coast to the other and being handled alot.

Re: Pics of my bumper

I am shop owner, and I sell Demello products. Jason and Co.are standup guys who make fine products.

Problems can happen. I know I would appreciate contact from my customer directly if there is an issue, so I have a chance to find out what happened, and see how I can resolve the problem before a public rant is displayed.

Chances are the bumper was damaged in transit, by the freight company, at least as far as the paint /scratches are concerned. And I'm sure Demello has a fair policy regarding any part that has an assembly / construction issue, too - but you've got to give them a chance before you get angry on the worldwide web, IMO...
