ok guys can you post pics of your demello rock sliders on your rig??? are these hard to install? is it basically just bolting them on? thanks!!
Most all sliders are just bolt on. Another friend, or two jack stands helps.
I just laid on my back and rested the rails on my knees to bolt them up, not the easiest way IIRC.

Everyone has there own way of building sliders and it really comes down to two trains of thought.

The Alpro sliders shown, from what I have read are designed to push you around rocks or obstacles on the trail.

The DeMello Sliders we build are designed as a last resort, I would prefer to miss any obstacles on the trail and drive over them with my tires. This is why we keep them tucked up nice and tight.

There are other reasons we make them the way we do. The shorter the distance between the inner and outer tube the less chance you will have for bending the tubes, less leverage in-between these tubes makes the sliders very strong. We also believe the tighter you keep your sliders to the vehicle the less chance you will have snagging on stuff on the trail. Especially in a lower wider vehicle like the FJ where every bit of ground clearance and side to side clearance is key to making it out of a trail with out getting stuck to much. The kick out design at first glance seems like a great idea to kick you around a rock, but what happens when it ends right at the wheel it puts that rock right into your wheel, wouldn't it be better to drive over that rock instead of around it? Or what if it's a tree or something taller when that kicks out ends it leaves you with a pretty big gap of sheet metal as a target. IMO it is usually better to miss the obstacle then to hit it with your slider or drive over it.

They are simply two different ways of doing something. Pick which ones you like better and I will see you on the trails.
Thank you, for a more understandable explanation between the usage of each product. My rig is lifted and I like to hear some logical explanation of the real differences between protection and usage!!! Looks like the Demello's will work for Meeeeee!! Now who in Florida has them in stock?

I believe the closes dealer we have to Florida that has them in stock would be Texas or you can try 4wheelparts. They carry our stuff but never order more than what they have on order so I doubt they will have it in stock.

Re: Rock slider pics???

I like the looks of yours better, Demello. How much do they sell for? What are they coated with? As for All-Pro I think they have the best looking front bumper and I love the new 3 peice bumper. If any one has followed me in the trails before they know that a 3 peice bumper will work best for me.

The Baremetal Round tube sliders run 299.00 or 350.00 powder coated. The powder coat is a wrinkle finish black. It has a texture to it.

The Baremetal Hybrid sliders run 429.00 or 518.00 powder coated.

That is up to you. Give Shannon a call at champion Toyota in Texas see what kind of price he gives you on shipping. Or give us a call and see what kind of price we can give you. Chances are his price will be better because of the shorter distance.

Is there really that much of Gap between the sliders and the rocker panel ? Or is that just an optical illusion ??

I want to get the new DO tube sliders but that gap on these is kinda buggin me. Anybody have some pics from a side view thats at the same level as the sliders ???
illusion. they are very tight to the rocker

O.K. I have been looking and comparing, the custom model you carry for I believe $518 powder coated is that with or with out shipping? And now the big question, My rig is lifted and I run 35's,wheel spacers 1:25 and Bushwhackers. I think I need some more distance past the rocker! standard from what I read is 1.5" past the rocker, I think I need a additional 1.5" to even things out. This would keep the line down the side even to the outer side of the wheels. What extra cost would you charge? That is If you would take my request.
