Yaris Tie-Down

I had a guy approach me a few months ago about making a tie-down for a Yaris, as he liked my FJ products.

With various emails and photos, I was able to get a design that almost fit. He had some filing to do to make it fit. So he sent it back, and I revised it to what was left from his filing. He has become very impatient and basically cancelled the whole ordeal. In his defence, it has taken about 4 months since we started the ideas flowing, but it is very hard to design something for a vehicle I have no access to, and still try to maintain a quality product. FYI: Yaris battery clamps sit at a funny angle and were much more difficult to engineer.

Now, I have a design basically finalized for the Yaris, and no one to test fit it. I am running two this weekend. He couldn't hold out any longer it seems.

Anyone have a Yaris and an FJ? If so, please let me know. I'll send it free

Re: Yaris Tie-Down

I also apologize to all of you for my lead times...

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the custom work I am trying to do, and the little amount of capital I have while trying to pay for my FJ, getting parts out the door fast is not something I am able to do. I do hope the quality and price of the products somewhat makes up for that, and if anyone is ever unsatisfied with the quality of their parts I would expect that you let me know.

Thanks,

Joel

So you going to change the company name? Ellis Precision Yaris parts?

Hey if the guy can't wait for a good quality, custom product then tough crap for him. BTW - hows the shifter knob and rack mesh coming? ahh forget it...just cancel it. - I kid, I kid.

I'm thinking of taking a loan and buying a lathe for my garage to sit next to my mill... UGHHH!!

I had the shifters all lined up and ready to go for production at a contact's shop on his lathe, then apparently the guy he was splitting the lease with wasn't paying the landlord and now they have to get their machines out. Industrial movers aren't cheap either.

As much as I wish I was making this up, I'm not.

Atleast I got a confirmed guy with a home for his lathe making oil caps this weekend

And as for the mesh, my girlfriend just got back running her lasers and waterjets so I'll bug her for a favor in a bit... I'm thinking we'll fit a carboard mock up if you have some time, Titanium, then go for the aluminum.

Re: Yaris Tie-Down

Hey wheres the "steely Dan " I ordered!!?

Seriously I have not quality issues with the bat clamp.
pics I see of the oil cap and the "oh shart" handles look top notch.

Everything takes time and the quality of your products are not an issue.

Don`t let 1 dude bug ya .

Joel

Just an FYI. I still would like to see the roof rack mesh be made. No rush, but have you been able to make any 4-runner clamps yet?

Don

I'm gonna try to get my girlfriend to make the mesh, she is a laser and waterjet operator. Your clamps are back from anodize and will ship this week.

Thanks Ace, but I sent it off to be tested already. I appreciate the offer.
