Ellis Precision Oil Caps

Do you think this will work?

I will mail off a sample to the first person that calls dibs on it, and it will have a crosshair on it. You thread it in to your FJ and let me know where it stops for your level of tightening comfort. Take a pic, send it to me. I engrave your cap to fit your threads so it is properly aligned in your hood, in relation to the crosshair on the sample cap that will be perfectly aligned in mine. You ship it to the next person on the list.

I'll get some pics up soon, and I'll edit them into this post. Some of you have already seen these billet caps, I'm sure. The cap can keep going around and we should have a list in it, just to see where it has travelled. Be cool I think.

One day hopefully I'll get it back. We can do another sample to stay in Canada as well.

Custom oil caps will be $59.99 plus $8.20 flat rate shipping, and you have to pay the postage of a couple bucks to the next person, if you want perfect alignment of course. Price includes anodize and engrave, and two o-rings (one installed, one spare).

First stop on the oil cap list is Truman in California. Then I need to see if fly-jb, shadow-warrior, and Bandi would like to see the sample, they have already asked about these, and Bandi has been helping me out with the alignment. After that, who wants to be next?

Thoughts and comments are always welcome! Any questions just ask!

Cool thanks! I may make two US alignment samples to float around below the 49th parallel, now that I think about it. I'll send you the second one to start it off. Also, instead of a crosshair I will do degree markings to the nearest 15 degrees. This should make things very simple to communicate.

I've got the darn caps sitting here, so I can engrave a few this weekend.

Cool, If possible send instructions so I can be as exact as possible with the pics. On the custom engraving,do you need cad design or will a pic do?
Thanks,

Thanks,
I need it to be a CAD design to engrave it, but dconstruck can convert pics to CAD geometry, and I'm sure volhoo can as well. Maybe send them a PM and see if they can convert it. I've been paying dconstruck to convert battery clamp files, and he doesn't charge alot, but I haven't alloted for that here. You can send it to me if it's easier and I'll get him to look at it (he literally lives up my street...). Any which way, we'll get it taken care of.

Re: Ellis Precision Oil Caps

I'd like to see these... of course, I'm still pondering the art to put on my battery clamp!

The other day I was thinking about trying to mock up a new shifter knob design. I'd like to have a reverse embossed "FJ" on the top surface.
