Nice! Looks pretty much identical, are you going to do one for the AT shifter as well?
Please don't lose sight of us auto guys! In the shifter department, the lion's share of aftermarket support seems to favor the 6MT guys!

When you design the auto handle, can you make it long enough to cover most of the shifter shaft, similar to the OEM TT version? I hate shifters that only cover part of the shaft and yet I am absolutely against shortening the thing down and rethreading.

Your initial design is a great start!

Re: "Trail Team" type Shift knob?

The aluminum accentuates the height of the knob (and not in a good way, imo).

Is it possible to custom order a pre-chopped version for us that have shortened their A/T?

This is why shifter designs drive me nuts! Did you all chop them to the same length or am I going to have to modify the design a bazillion times?

Sorry if I seem grouchy...

Yes, I think we could do that, but I will need you to PM me a length please.

Cheers

I personally tried to order a set for my FJ this morning. About 10 min ago, I received a voicemail from 1st Toyota letting me know that they had to order them from Toyota and if I didn't have a SE VIN number, I was out of luck.

So.......I am definitely still interested in a set of the knobs for the AT if this little project is still a "go"!

Re: "Trail Team" type Shift knob?

Joel. I'd be up for a set of AT shifters in the satin black. Yippy.

Re: "Trail Team" type Shift knob?

I would roll with a set for the AT and Im sure I know of at least one other Fj owner that would be in as well.

Re: "Trail Team" type Shift knob?

Is this effort still in the works or is this a dead issue? Any update at all?

Re: "Trail Team" type Shift knob?

I've been focusing on summit badges the last while... there were a lot to make!

I did however, purchase some new tools and equipment so that I can get a start on these instead of having to borrow/rent a lathe or have a colleague turn them. I kinda thought it was dead when the link was posted, but I am not sure if you need the TT Vin still or not?

Once my new chuck and tools arrive I'll get crackin' on these. I still have to finish the design on the AT (only done the T-case so far).
