1GR supercharger installed

Got the rig back from Burt Toyota today. Took them 2 days and part of the morning to get the supercharger installed, oil/filter change, rotate/balance the tires and an alignment. Total damage for all of that.........$1114.00 Here ya go:

TRD suggested re-installing the OEM intake, but the tech said to leave the AFE on for better performance and said it would not effect the warranty. They did have to improvise a mounting bracket for the coolant pump since the ARB and winch interfered with the TRD provided bracket behind the grill.

Work in progress:

This pump needs to go in front of the radiator, but the ARB and winch drum interfere.

So an improvised bracket wil relocate it behind the ARB and the winch motor. Will require some different coolant fittings and pigtail on the wiring harness.

Sorry for the poor quality pics, but I was on the run and the techs stayed late to problem solve and show me the quandary.

Installed with the afe CAI no problem

New coolant reservoir

The supercharger

Coolant hoses run along the back of the drivers side engine compartment

And along the inside of the driver's fender behind the fuse blocks and battery

A very tight fit for the relay and wiring harness along with the coolant lines

They also run behind/through the drivers light housing access

New hood latch bracket and low-temp radiator

We had to relocate the pump toward the passenger side b/c of the ARB/winch

Pump is mounted on the frame instead of the provided bracket

The new pulleys and belt will make changing the drive belt fun

Because it's behind all of them

Haven't had the opportunity to really play with it yet, but plan on hitting Floyd Hill west of Denver this afternoon!

Re: 1GR supercharger installed

FJcruzer123, great job with the photos...I saw your thread but couldn't relocate it to show MBT what's involved with the FJ SC install, so I based it on BB's

12hrs (@ $95hr = $1145) was the first qoute from the dealer, then I told them about BB's dealer doing it for $701...so they brought it down to $750, hope they won't jack it up any more and tell me they had to do extra things.

Despite the cost, I'm sure and hope that you'll be a happy camper with the mod and extra ooomphhh.

I'll let you know how my install went. Enjoy!

Victor

Re: 1GR supercharger installed

Looks good, let us all know what you think. Since you're located in Denver I guess you had to use a different pulley for high altitude use right?

Re: 1GR supercharger installed

I was at GO yesterday getting an oil change and while waiting started BS'ing with the guys at the part counter. They had no idea the SC was even out, price, install labor cost nothing. Heck the one retard at the counter couldnt even find the damn thing on his unbearably slow computer.
What is wrong with these poeple?

I almost have the wife convinced it should be my Chritmas gift but its gonna come at a price of a honey-do list the size of Texas!
