Here's Ollie's post over there: foam cabin air filter. It's an industrial-grade dual density foam designed for use in paint booth and grind booth pre-filtration.

That's the main reason I went back to the factory filter. TRDSource has the lowest price I've found (~$14).

That's a quarter the price my dealer charges! I need to make a bulk order from him of these and Toyota Oil filters.

Here's some photos of my mod...

Get Filtrete Filter,
Kinda tricky to cut since there is a thin metal grate on the front and back.

Cut to size. I don't have a problem with leakage on the sides..

So far it works great, and I've had it in for about 2 months!

In the owners manual, it also says that you can used compressed air to blow out the dirt. This would extend the life of the filter and save you a few dollars.
