Re: where is EGR on 4.0?

IMO... For toyota it would be more cost effective if hey made a vehicle to meet "50 state emission requirements". since California has the strictest emission requirements, it seem justifiable to make it "California legal"... Benefits for non-California residents is that IF you were to move to California, your vehicle is set-up for our emissions requirements, and do not have to pay for your vehicle to meet our requirements.

Plus, don't you want to be more environmentally conscience??? You know keep the tree's green, and prevent the polar ice-caps from melting... Prevent global warming???

just my 2 centavos...

Re: where is EGR on 4.0?

This whole conversation is a waste of effort. Although I do like KLD's common sense approach to this.

You mean to tell me that if Toyota manufactured a vehicle that is friendlier to the environment and your state doesn't require it to be "that" environmentally friendly, that you prefer the FJ to adhere to lower emission standards?

I am glad that Toyota decided to standardize on supporting the strictest emission standards in the 50 states.

So what you are saying is that you don't mind loosing performance & engine life which translates into spending more money, just so you can beleive Toyota's environmental view. The EPA doesn't even mandate the FJ's emissions & no other Toyota truck exceeds Federal satndards. Obviously some "green nut" at Toyota made a boo boo.

Re: where is EGR on 4.0?

Ron, you need to get a life, how much HP do you think is being lost by having better emmisions on the FJ? If you truly drive like you said in the Ih8mud thread, we would ALL be better off if you were off the highway.
