Mine only taps for like one or two minutes when started cold. Then it completely goes away. You can't hear it at all in the cabin due to the engine noise, but if you stand outside you can hear it, and then it stops. Doesn't come back until another cold start. Then goes away again. I'm not doing anything about it since I wouldn't hear it even if it didn't stop. Headers, CAI, and Exhaust can fix just about any annoying sound!
Mine is always ticking away... I have this info printed up in my garage. but, never seem to remember to do it. I guess it doesn't bother me much. The only time I think about it is when I'm at the drive-thru and I can hear it echoing off the side of the building and the roof overhead.
