why does instructions on my K&N sheet says this kit is not for "LIFTED" vehicles...

mine is not lifted yet, but am thinking about adding 3 inches when i get new tires...

By installing the lift, your FJ now runs at a much higher altitude than the stock machines. The higher altitude results in lower air pressure as the milibars indicate on the optional altimeter ( which also has to be recalibrated if you do a lift job.) The instructions for this are contained within the manual, in the Optional equipment addendum. (instructions for the heated seats are also in there as well.)
Since the air filter was designed to operate at a specific range of air pressure, the manufacture has no control of the upper atmosphere environment that you may be operating in due to the lift.
And this is all Bovine Scat which you probably realize by now.

I think that if you re-calibrate the flux-capacitor, you should be able to run the K&N with on your lifted FJ...

i acknowledge what you are saying with incredjulity and pontification... lets also assume that i was interested in an additional 4,000ft of clearance ... my greatest problem with that is i can't afford a 4,000ft lift. cost is a factor in my decision... i would prefer only 3 inches, would take 4 inches if was offered a finacially motivated, contractually negotiated offer of intent, but i have to consider my garage door and clearance, hence. at this time, i am vertically challenged -- only have a limited amount of space if i want to keep my vehicle in my garage. conincidentally, as a scuba diver, i am sisinctly aware and thus respectively, have previously consulted the appropriate literature containing charts relating to altitude diving. knowing how to make the appropriate calculations for this kind of change in atmospheric pressure is critically important in diving... i've attached such chart so that i may share these calculations with others that may find these figures usefull, but as i am new to the sport of "quadriffic ramblification" i regret that i don't understand the specification expressly relative to the manufacturer's intent for disclosure.

I guessing this is a "Body Lift" they are referring to not a suspension lift, some of the mounting points would possibly move if you added a body lift,

How would that 4,000ft lift handle going around a cloverleaf???

it is talking of a body lift. it changes the box mounting angle to the motor mounting angle. fixed issue on my dodge truck with some rubber gaskets.
