Oil Change?

Anyone done their own oil change yet? Are the filters the same as the 4Runner?

I'm up to almost 500 miles, and plan to change it this weekend.

Me too, I used my free oil change at the dealership at 200 km. You should have seen the service manager's face when I told him I was finished with break in & to change the oil please.

Same here, 500 miles. What oil are you all planning on running?

Re: Oil Change?

Anyone know if they has special break-in oil in these? My salesman seemed to think they might but didn't know. I was shocked when he told me they don't call for an oil change until 8000 km (5000 mi) - that just seems insane to me. I was planning to go at 1000 miles.

Re: Oil Change?

Changed my own oil at 500. You could seevery fine metal particles when draiining the oil from the filter. I plan on the next change at 1500 then on the 3000 mile plan.
