Air filter question???

I installed a K&N air filter and when I did I noticed a seccond filter that appears to not be removeable. This filter is between the air filter and the actual intake. what is the deal with this filter? Are people cutting this out to increase air flow?

Re: Air filter question???

I believe you are referrring to the activated charcoal "fume catcher" in the intake required for CARB certification....helping to insure no stinkin gas fumes from anywhere on the vehicle. This includes the unburnt vapors that might sneak out of the intake and "pollute"

Re: Air filter question???

If this is true and this is the first ride that I have had this on.....this explains the pre-mature memory loss.....or it could be the alcohol.
