Air conditioning going hot while sitting or at low speed?

I just got back from my dealer (WESLEY CHAPEL TOYOTA = Wheeler friendly dealership in Florida) and they diagnosed my issue with A/C. Over the last couple months I have had issues with the A/C running hot (& temp at the peg) when not in motion.

I was at Cruiser Jam at the dealership last Saturday when it acted up again. I had been driving for about an hour with the A/C on Max (to keep a truck full of Cold Stone frozen) and went into the dealership for about 15 minutes to unload the product; when I came out it was blowing hot and the temp was to the red. I had the service manager come and take a look and they did fit me in but, couldn't duplicate it by the time they were due to close. I went back in today and even though I am over the 36K warranty they're fixing it for me. It turns out to be the fan clutch (pink assy in front of your fan) that is slipping. If you have issues with your A/C have them look at your service center. They needed the help of Toyota Engineering in Cali to help troubleguess this one.

As a disclaimer the forums own FLWakeBd properly diagnosed this problem for me on Sunday when I was at his place helping out on some work he is doing on his 40. Also got a leaky front transfer case that they are repairing at no charge. K

Weird... This happened to me today... First time... Acted up for about 30 hour then fine... I'll have to watch the fan clutch.

I've been wondering what the diagnosis was. Glad to hear they're fixing it even out of warranty. -Trev
