My trip to the exhaust shop.

So I went to AA performance muffler in Englewood today to talk to the guys there about my FJ setup. They previuosly have done my 95 Saleen and 04 S4 so they know me well and are real good at fabing new systems and the like.

His take ( and its only his opinion ) : Why bother with headers, mufflers , cai's and duel exhaust ideas. So you get 10 HP here, 5 there and spend a ton of cash in the mean time on stuff that for all intents and purposes does jack squat.

His solution, that i save the $12-1500 in exhaust parts and go for the bigger $4000 fix ( we all know what that is ).....and the more i think of it i agree with him.

So $4000 for 125 more ponies and something that is tangeable and you are guaranteed to notice not to mention fuel costs will drop once i get done mashing the pedal sounds like just the ticket to me.

Then once its on, ill go back for the Catless Y pipe and a full exhaust fab to compliment the new SC.

Im fully open to any other ideas or opinions you all have that either agree or disagree with what I am about to undertake..

Thanks

Arguing on online forums is like the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded.

Re: My trip to the exhaust shop.

Depends if you are looking to do it now or maybe in a month or two. Word has it that the URD system is going to drop in price by a large amount here in the next few. Might wanna wait for that and save even more dough. Or maybe the TRD will finally come out and be even cheaper.

Re: My trip to the exhaust shop.

If you've got the $$$ and patience then waiting for an SC is a perfect idea. I didn't change my exhaust because I thought it would turn my beast into a fire-breather... I just wanted a little more bark. I plan on adding some forced induction bite once the warranty is up.
