Ticking noise in motor 2k miles??

I have been noticing a slight tick, most likely in the valvetrain. I am used to Toyotas and Hondas quiet engines. This does sound like a loose valve and wanted to know if any of you guys have slight noise coming from yours.

Thanks

Charles

Its a Yota, they tick. If you are concerned get the dealer to check it out. Get your oil changed as well, 5k on a first reccomended oil change just is not right in my book.

Re: Ticking noise in motor 2k miles??

I sometimes hear a ticking sound, but I thought it was coming from the tweeters in the dash. Does it sound rather high-pitched like a cracking almost?

(Only 1k miles here)

Re: Ticking noise in motor 2k miles??

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that somebody tracked this down. It is some polution BS piece that actually ticks, not your engine.

Ya, this has been talked about before. If I recall it is some valve to do with engine controls, like maybe vacuum operated. Seems to do it after engine is warmed?
