Diy Cai?

Does anyone think you could make your own CAI? I saw some tuner guys doing this

Absolutely possible, all the tubing is availiable in the import section of any auto parts store. as for the box, you could use Plexiglass glue and RTV for sealant. or you could use thin aluminum and a bender. Or any other number of options.

Yup its do able...I don't know how the placement of the MAF sensor would play into it though.

Amazing how many people think that a CAI is only a piece of pipe...do a little research first this is actually a very complex subject, you would not believe the issues an incorrectly engineered intake can cause. Tuner guys are typically using dyno's and remapping their engines to account for their customer CAI's. Applying this logic to an engine w/o the remapping can be problematic.

Im pretty sure he was talking about the K&N CAI and not the drop in filter. Atleast thats what I got from it.
