Question Considering the D.T Long tubes and URD y-pipe

Im considering doing the doug thorley long tube headers and the Urd y-pipe on my 08 TT. Just have some questions;

Will that be a problem with my TRD exhaust?

Anyone with this set up, what do you do when it comes to emissions? - I live Utah.

Anyone have any problems with this set up?

Are they worth while mod?

1) no

2) you have to check your states emissions laws DMV.ORG - The Unofficial Guide to the DMV

3) no idea, but you will need to get the URD rear 02 sim and URD MAF sensor calibrator.

4) I would think so, true bolt on performance.

Re: Considering the D.T Long tubes and URD y-pipe

Is it the headers or the Y-pipe that affect the emissions?
-I heard the y-pipe is a 30 minute install, just take it off before your e.m test??

will this set-up throw a check engine light?

There are two sets of cats on the fj.

The first cats are attached to the stock manifolds, which the Thorleys will be replacing. Then the second set is what the Y-pipe would be replacing.

They are both bolt on so it would be easy to take on and off.

yes it will. The long tube headers will throw a check engine light. Not sure about the y-pipe.

After you instal the rear O2 sim, you are not supposed to have this check engine light because this sim will tell the ECU that there is nothing there, URD y-pipe an DT Headers.

I cant wait for mine

Re: Considering the D.T Long tubes and URD y-pipe

as far as the check engine light goes, you will need a O2 Sensor Simulator. It plugs into where the rear O2's are, and sends a false signal to the FJ's computer to fake it out into thinking the cats are there, hence keeping the light off.

I know URD has one you have to splice into your factory harness. I didn't like that idea, so I bought the one from www.empirepao.com I got part number 1303. Plug and play, no splicing or cutting.
