Spray them down with grill paint. You will be back in business in 5 mins.

Get some silver grill paint. Honestly, $500 headers are bound to rust.

They look jet coated but they thinned it out.

Grill paint. It will be painless and you will not notice the difference a month from now.

How else would I want them to handle it? Ship me some new headers at no cost, and then arrange to have the bad headers picked up after they've been swapped. I've already paid my money in for this, I dont feel I should have to be paid a second time.

.

WORD!!! (did I just say "word"?)

You got me scared to open the box downstairs with my Doug Thorleys in it. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope everything gets resolved without you having to buy more headers.

they told me that the rust was no big deal, because the carbon and soot would protect the headers. I didn't want to believe it, but I went with it. I should have just got new ones back then arghhhh
maybe you should go outside, sit down, take some deep breaths, it seems as though you are turning into a pirate.

Re: my Doug Thorley long tubes are rusting away :(

I'm pretty sure all JBA's are stainless and not even the uncoated ones would rust.

What's weird is, on my buddy's 4Runner with mild steel headers, there is still no signs of rust after a year... and we didn't bother coating them.

Does grille paint seriously adhere? Maybe I should suggest that to him just in case (but I really don't want to help him pull them )

Re: my Doug Thorley long tubes are rusting away :(

I totally remember when you got them! I thought to myself - "new and rusted"
and they told you it's cool???

I agree with you 100% that they should ship you new ones IMMED based on what has happened to you.....You should not have to pay again. and then get refunded.....

I wanted these headers bad - but after I saw that rust a few months ago I was not too sure about their quality control.... especially after they told you it was OK!!! I was about to buy them.....

Whatever the case you should have a replacement sent out IMMED (shipping paid by them) and they pay for shipping back for your old ones.

This is sad that a company would do this to a consumer....

I wish you luck and hope they make good....You paid good $ for a what I thought was a good product....

They need to make this right for you.
