TRD Supercharger problem

This is a weird one here. I have had my TRD Supercharger on my FJ for 3 months now. Today im sitting in my garage working on my motorcycle, when I hear a loud click and then a humming sound. I get up and go to the front of my FJ where the noise is comming from. Low and behold the water pump for the intercooler is running. The FJ has not been run at all today and it was not on all night because I heard it click on and then start humming while I was sitting in the garage.
I then go into the FJ, put the key in and start it up then shut it off and the water pump goes off. Any suggestions?

Re: TRD Supercharger problem

This is a joke now, I called my dealer that installed it and the guy tells me its supposed to cycle because it senses air in the system. I tell him the system is full with no air in it, then I ask him where the sensor is that detects air in the system because I know there is not one.
He then says the system automaticaly cycles now and then, again I call BS because I have been in the garage working all winter and its never cycled before. So I hang up and call TRD, they say it can not start on its own and basically dont believe me.
I tell them the pump was humming and I could feel it working, I could also feel the coolant pumping through the hoses.
Now im waiting for them to call me back.

Good luck! I don't think they will ever believe you! My view is this: If it is my FJ--I would never take it down to a stealership to let it sit for a couple of days to have them check to see if it does it. Maybe take a video of it? You would have to be extra quiet and hope the microphone picks up on the sound.....

I don't know how you will "prove" it to them! Did the dealer install it?

I thought TRD would give you the straight skinny. When I had questions on my SC, they beat all my expectations and were just about more concerned than I was. Good experience after dealing with other aftermarket folks over the years.

Re: TRD Supercharger problem

So is this actually causing a problem? Is everything still running well?
