Re: paying ????? for TRD superchargers installed!

The only benefit from having the dealer install it is the remainder of your factory warranty vs. just a 1 year. But..if you're nearing 36K or so just go with another shop's install or DIY. I would only go with someone who has installed superchargers before though.

Re: paying ????? for TRD superchargers installed!

I have been looking into the SC and installation at local dealerships in the area. I spoke to several techs who all say they have not installed one. One tech said they sent a 4 runner out to a performance shop to install the SC! Maybe I will wait until I hear more dealerships saying they can do them, and maybe then the unit price can drop by $1500.

LOL, you're right... it's all about making time with them. Nobody is going to work on your vehicle like you will.

Re: paying ????? for TRD superchargers installed!

I chose to have the dealer install it solely to keep the full factory warranty. It only had 200 miles on the odometer when it went in, so I figured paying a little extra on the front end was a pretty safe expense. The install looks clean and everything runs well, so far.

Re: paying ????? for TRD superchargers installed!

So I'll try to find a "reputable/experienced" performance shop and see what they would charge for the install.

You can ship the ecm unit to a Good dealership and they flashed the ecm with the new fuel/timing maps the SC comes with the map, you just need in tranfered to the ecm unit.
