I've driven between Salt Lake City and Jackson hole several times and gotten 24 mpg every time. I've pushed it just over 400 miles on one tank. Day to day in the city I get 16 -17 mpg and fill up around 280.

I have a 6" lift and 35" tires set 40 PSI with TRD CAT, TRD Catback, Doug thorley headers, and y-pipe. I use to get 180 miles to the tank at a little over 70 mph. Now that i drive at 65 mph, i get over 220 which is really good for high way driving. Take Uphill's advice

You are talking about driving at 65 on the interstate at 70speed limit??

I wish, up here the limit is 65mph. It was 70 when i was in nashville with the I-40 and I-24. Well, another thing is that i got a ticket doing 89 mph on 65 speed limit with Fellow FJ laughing at me
Never do it again
Oh, and my speedometer reads 65 but its actually 69

He really has a 15.82 gallon tank. IF the milage per tank is that low he is actually getting 12.49 usable till the light comes on.
You got to think in the difference between US and UK gallons.
BUT...during the cold months here I have been lucky to get mid 200's before the light came on. As its warming up now I am coming back to early 300's. I can tow my TT and not get as bad as 215 of a tank!
Check all the usual, filters, plugs and ask the dealer to help.

Re: Can't get more than around 200 miles per tank
I bought my FJ (new) in January, had a 3 mile commute, around/near 250 per tank and 16/17-ish or so. Now with 1400 miles and a 13 mile commute, I'm getting 300 or so and 18.5 ish. My last tank was 310 and it took 16.66 to fill it back up. I always stop when it first clicks off (pump) too.. Ron

I run 89 octane and i cant tell the difference in that and the higher octanes, i may get around 5 more miles per tank, however the price per gallon doesnt pan out. i have stock wheels 16" and tires, i get 300-315 miles per tank.
