35 microns, those are still some good size chunks floating around in your oil. Had you considered using magnetic filters? They filter to below 1 micron with little or no flow restriction. The better ones, spin on in front of your favorite spin on oil filter. Check broncograveyard.com, JC Whitney or Northern Tool for their spin on magnetic filters. They also have in-line magnetic filters for cooler line installations. I have used them on power steering and auto trans.
Magnefine makes one as well but they only work on magnetic materials. Not carbon.

The trufilter has a rare earth magnet built in. You need to read about what the filtration ratings mean. The steel filter has an ABSOLUTE rating while paper/synthetic filters have an AVERAGE rating. This is why steel filters are used in medical applications like blood filtration. The rating means that no particle larger than the rated size can pass through the filter. Paper filters have an average rating so some much larger particles pass through the filter. The Trufilter uses a deep pleated, duplex woven, 30 micron, T304 stainless steel filter media. Their testing in the lab and on the race track (numerous racing teams use these filters including the 2006 BAJA 1000 winner, Darren Hardesty) has shown the filter to be %90 better at filtering 35 micron and smaller particles. Also, most filters have a bypass valve that will allow particles as large as 400 microns to pass through. The Trufilter uses their Quadflow system instead of a bypass, so no unfiltered oil goes to your engine. I'm basically just repeating what is on their website so here is the link. If you take the time to read it, it will probably answer most of your questions about this system. Trufilter.com

Here is what I was trying to say about the particle size rating. The absolute rating of 35 microns doesn't meant that it doesn't filter particles smaller than 35 microns. It means that nothing larger than that can pass through. It is still filtering particles smaller than 35 microns.

oops, sorry I forgot to respond to the question about the Hyper Voltage system. I'm happy with the product. It is more for piece of mind to protect the electrical system. Helps electrically powered systems run more efficiently and protects against power spikes and drops. It will give you 1 or 2 HP and corresponding torque. I'm going to install a dual battery kit from Dirty Parts very soon. When I do that I'll also be adding the Hyper Voltage ground kit. Again, just improves efficiency and performance of the electrical systems. It is a good kit to run, especially with a dual battery.

I ordered mine from performanceproducts4trucks.com They have the best price at $139.
They must have just raised their prices, because they are asking $149.99 for them now. According to the application guide, the one to buy is Performance Products Part#107599 (TruFilter #TFSD24), which is the small filter w/ 3/4" x16 thread. Is that the one you bought?

Yeah, TFSD24. I just got done with changing my oil this afternoon. I'm giving this filter the thumbs up and I recommend it. Cleaning it was a breeze, and it was fun to be able to see how well it works. After you drain the oil, you just have to unscrew the top of the filter, leaving the base in place. Then just pull the screen, wash with hot water and dish soap, dry, screw back on. Done. Very easy, clean, and actually fun! So that is my take on it.
