i drove with no air filter; did I cause damage?

Yeah, so I cleaned my K&N last night, and then happily drove to work this morning, having forgotten to put it back in.

So, here's my question did I just destroy my engine or what?

It's a 14 mile trip, all highway, weather was clear, I'm in the Midwest, so no dust/sand in the air, plus the FJ has that perma filter in there

So what do you guys think? any thing I should do/look for-besides remembering to not drive around with out it.

unless it sucked a bug or sand grit then you should be okay....but if it sucked sand in there time will tell.

dont worry, you will be fine. Slam that filter in and pretend it never happened.

You will find out over time but my guess would be your rig will survive. Many Toyotas have been through much worse and survived, thats why we buy them.

Re: i drove with no air filter; did I cause damage?

You should be OK. Your oil and the oil filter will catch anything that could cause harm to the engine. I would go get an oil change ASAP.
