Hi guys. I wanted to share my pics of the 1grfe. We've torn down the longblock so we can build the heads with a heavy porting, more aggressive cams, 1mm oversized exhaust valves, and stiffer valve springs.
Here are the valves, stock is 36.5mm (massive) and 29mm exhaust. We plan on upgrading the exhaust to 30mm.
Something we did to fit larger valves in a similar toyota.
Onto the valve springs. We have a set of springs here that we're using with the more aggressive cams. The stiffer springs are 80lbs on the seat and 140lbs on the nose, and allow up to 10mm lift without coil bind
Is this for an X-runner? Either way, WOW! Keep us updated on the final horsepower and torque one completed. Oh and since you are changing the valve springs (i think) tell us what that thing can redline to. I wish I had the resources to do something like that.

Very interesting!!! Looking forward to more development on this motor build.
What vehicle will this go in?

Here are some shots of the the block and the crank. The block is open deck and uses those spiny liners. Not so great for performance but there is a remedy.
The liners are literally only 5 sheets of paper thick.
Here is the crank. It looks ok, however there are some rather thin spots where the rod journals are offset:
Wow, thanks for sharing. Yes, please keep this post updated and alive. I'd love to be in your position, fun and interesting stuff you've got your hands into...
