I find shell Bronze grade to be great, especially in the winter time. They do have additives for the cold however I dont notice a significant drop in MPG that you get with most.

Great responses guys! I think we now know who all the Canadians are too. Sorry for not putting in the other choices such as Chevron and Sunoco etc. Unfortunately they don't exist in Alberta - from what i've seen.
Air miles... love 'em. I've been using Husky for the past 2 years as it pays for my AMA membership but I think i'll be switching over to Shell. Even though it's only been a few days running Shell product, it seems to not be using as much. We'll see on the next tank when I put in 91 instead of 87. Of course i'm sure it takes more than a tank to see real results....
Out.

Have tried both Shell V-Power and Husky/Mohawk 94, and decided to stick with the Husky. Around here, the Husky is 2 cents a litre cheaper, the folks inside are much nicer, and my FJ runs the same. It also helps cover around half of my CAA membership

I use Esso 87. Always have gotten over 400 km per tank (winter or summer). Also, I like Esso because I use the Speed Pass which is incredibly convenient/fast and you get an extra 1.5 cents off (not much but anything helps right!). On a side note, the best mileage i've gotten was 10.5L/100km, in summer, stock, on a camping trip. Hope that helps.
I use Esso 95% of the time. I had used Irving for awhile but they have trouble with their premium grade. I got two tanks of "wet" gas from them and finally was given a number to call to complain. The guy on the phone told me that there is more water in the premium tanks because no one buys the expensive gas ...So the gas sits longer in the tank... He actually told me if I wanted less water then I should stick to regular gas in the winter!!!!! WTF. Sooooo....Long story short: I went back to Esso and their reward card.

mods so far
Mod, mod, and more mods and it still looks way to friggin' stock.....grrrrr
Husky [ CAA points] 91 or Sunoco. I've got an 08, auto tranny. I still convert my fuel consuption to mpg's. So far the best I've done in Toronto-Mtl
@25mpg, with cruise ste at 110km/hr. Worst is 14 mpg city driving. Honest to god though when she's in 4x4 I can see the guage drop. butt I Love my FJ .
Ultramar 87 about 90% of the time. It's convienent for me. Esso about 10% of the time because of the speed pass. Get about 350-400 Kms/tank depending on the ambient temperature and how much gear I'm carrying. Also I keep adding weight to this thing so the mileage keeps going down.

Where I live the husky sells 90 octane for the same price as the lower octane .
I found that too at most of the Husky/Mohawk stations here in Edmonton. Both the same price.
I had a 45km/hr headwind all the way to Jasper and was also carrying two sets of skis on top of the FJ and with a 260lb passenger (my bro-in-law the fireman). I still managed to get decent mileage. (haven't converted yet).
On the way home I filled up in Hinton (V-power - assuming it's Shell's Premium). On 1/4 of a tank I hit 168 kms! I was impressed. Yes... I was coming from the mountains but the highway just doesn't gradually descend. It goes up and down. I usually get about 100kms at a 1/4 driving in the city - about 70 city 30 freeway. Unfortunately I didn't fill back up again as soon as I got home. I have driven it a few times in the city since so any math won't be accurate. I'm confident I can get over well over 500 on the highway any time of year. By the way... it was -29 in Jasper that weekend but warmed up to -14 on the highway - for most of the trip home.
So far very impressed to get better mileage than my '05 Taco (which I don't miss anymore ).
