Re: Canucks!! What brand of fuel are you using?

I use Mohawk for the first half of the year to pay for my AMA membership and registration, then switch to Crappy Tire for the money. Difference in performace? Tough, I use the high test stuff from Crappy and with the octane boost now at Mohawk, not bad.
In the winter, if I get 200km per half tank, I happy!!! The cold is not nice on my mileage. In the summer, I can squeeze 240 out of a half tank with gentle driving; more highway than town miles.
In the wind, well, pushing a brick into stiff head wind just eats gas.
I think I avg. 20mpg (US) with all my mods etc.

Re: Canucks!! What brand of fuel are you using?

Ya in BC Husky/Mohawk uses 90oct as there regular and 94 as premium ... i try and fill up there its 90 for the price of 87 else where but i can feel the difference when i use chevron 92oct its just got more guts and go.. plus the price was 4 cents difference today when i filled up so on a full tank thats like $2.40 for a better running sounding and feeling truck plus i get better gas mileage with the chevron gas by 30-40 kms...
shell and petro Canada have 91oct and its about half cent to cent cheaper then chevron 92 oct

Re: Canucks!! What brand of fuel are you using?

I've had my 08 FJ (MT) for a month..had 8Km on it and I just turned over to my 1st 1000. Am on my 3rd tank; dealer insisted I use super (91) or better; filled with Sunoco 94 on tank#1; then Canadian Tire 91 on tank#2 and on my last fill-up went with CT's midgrade (89) and have found no difference in driveability and am actually getting better mileage on this last tankfull, even with the -15C ambient temps we've been having. I'll keep an eye on how she performs once the warmer weather arrives and I get a few more KM's on the vehicle.
