Is there any such thing as prefabbed window screens that clip in place of an open window to allow ventilation while truck camping? I'd love to be able to prop open the rear glass, especially, during an over-nighter in the truck but don't want to be eaten alive in my sleep! I've seen a couple of threads that address sleeping arrangements, but nothing on ventilation.
Any ideas?

Good call, and very easily stowed as well. Hmmmm... I can see that working well for the door windows, but will that mate smoothly to the rear glass area you think?

I was thinking of this same thing. I had planned on just buying some screen netting and cutting it to fit the rear window then sewing velcro to the netting and using the sticky back strips to apply to the edges of the window molding. Always there, and no chance of a gust of wind (or giant bugs) dislodging magnetic strips.

Re: Window Screening for Camping?
i have this huge mosquito net that i hang with cable ties from the back bar on my Gobi rack...support it out with 2 pieces of emt tubing....draped over with the back door open...nice sleeping in the rear of the fj....in a pinch
We just got back from a camping trip with skeeters. Our Columbia tent takes like 5 min. to set up. Don't put the rain fly on and it's a totally open skeeter screen. And much more roomier than the back of an FJ, unless of course you're only 4 feet tall...

They are 30x34, so you might need a couple to cover the back window.

Has anyone ordered one of these screens for their FJ? I'm just wondering why none of the pictures show the front seat windows covered, only rear seat windows.
