Fuel tank idea?
Some opinions,
You think one of these on the roof in my ARB rack would work? Seems like a cheap refueling solution for on the trail.
Amazon.com: Blitz 11055 Fuel Station 15 Gallon Container: Automotive
Thanks!

Re: Fuel tank idea?
I dont see why not, as long as it can be secured very good. Not too sure about it leaking though?

Re: Fuel tank idea?
Yea leaking is an issue for sure. I was also a little woried about to much weight on the roof making the vehicle top heavy.

Re: Fuel tank idea?
That would be an extra 120 lbs on the roof when full. Your center of gravity would be high.,

I'm not sure where else you could put it. I guess I could try to mount it under the rear end like other have suggested.

I'd worry about ripping the nozzle off and spilling out the contents.

LOL perhaps I could just duct tape the nozzle to the fuel inlet since this thing drinks so much gas!

Re: Fuel tank idea?
I see no reason why the roof rack cant carry the tank... there are plenty of folks who has 3-4 5gal containers up there..
It's not necessary cheaper, the plastic jugs cost less, but it's cool to carry that much fuel in single container.

Re: Fuel tank idea?
Filling up a container while in contact with a vehicle is a potential static discharge problem. Be sure and do your homework before fitting and filling.... would hate it if someone lost their rig or were hurt.

The nozzle is gravity-fed so you would have to put the gas into another container then into the FJ's gas tank for it to work there.
