securing a porta-pot on the roof?

Hi,
The family and I are going into the Maze in June and are required (by the park regs) to carry a portable toilet. I am NOT carrying it in the FJ. I have a 15cuft carrier in the middle of the stock rack. I am thinking of putting it against the rear bar. Is there some kind of bungee net device I can use to secure it so that thing does not move a centimeter? Also, any ideas on hooking it up to the spare tire?

Thanks

Would a big box of diapers count?

I think the depends would take up more room than the portapotty, but hey, I could stuff them under the seats...

We just were in SE Utah and needed the same. I purchased a PET seat that uses WAG BAGS. It is a much cleaner way to go.

Re: securing a porta-pot on the roof?

I had one in my Toyota 4Runner that I used in Surveillance Operations. I NEVER had any problems with smell or liquids coming out of the toilet inside the vehicle. That includes some very demanding driving conditions. I used it for over 7 years inside my vehicles. They work great as long as you buy the chemicals that are made for them. I hope this helps.

I've got one I carry in my trailer. I've never had any leak issues, they build them pretty tight.

Thanks, do you happen to have a link for that?

Appreciate it. I have so much stuff that will go with me, water for four, etc, I am trying to get ideas on configs before I go.

I vote for the PETT system too. I had one on top of my FJ at the Summit last year and no one knew (I camped a lot)

Yep, just took the same one on the Mojave Road trail a few weeks back and worked like a charm.
