Anyone have experience getting an E3 trailer out to toroweap? We're going there in May, hoping to avoid any rain. We're taking the road out of Fredonia.
We just got an E1. What a trailer! It looks awesome behind the FJ, silver E1 with the Ti Silver...
Comfortable and roomy. It is a good comprimse between the hardcore offroad trailer and the more wife friendly models. She loves it, so do my daughters and the dogs!
I was just there. The road from Fredonia is better than the one coming down from Colorado City. The only problem you might have with your E-1 is in some dusty patches where the dust was skid-deep (about 18"). It wasn't a problem for the FJC, but keep it in 4 WD when you're towing through those patches.
Otherwise, it's about the best camping spot in the Western US as far as I'm concerned. If it's full, you have no choice but to retreat to BLM land. If that happens, there are some good spots in the Mt. Trumbull area, not that far from Toroweap.

Cautionary note: Of the ten campsites at Toroweap, maybe 1/2 would handle your trailer easily. Another one or two would be a squeeze just because they abut a cliff overhand or because (like space 9), it would be a maneuvering issue to get it up in there.

Turns out that I went out and visited Toroweap on a one day trip from Vegas. Yup, the road from Fredonia is pretty nice. The one from Colorado City had some deep sand - it was fun to go through it rally style.
I told my brother in law that he couldn't probably make it. His tow vehicle is a Durango; I figured he'd probably have a cow if his trailer or his vehicle ended up dragging on things to get back there.
Neat looking place though - it'll be hot there near late May - which was another reason I didn't want to camp there.
