Jerry Can Holder on Spare Tire

Until I can afford to get a MAF aux fuel tank, I will continue to use my Jerry (actually it's a Blitz can) Can holder.

I got mine from Off Road Unlimited in Burbank California.

Blitz (GAS) Can Spare Tire Mount 1942-2004 Jeep with a 5on4.5 or 5on5.5 Bolt Pattern - Gas Can Accessories - Off Road Unlimited

It has been on the back of my Rig for over a year now, and I can report no problems to date.

I did have to modify the mounting plate to fit over the curved "shoulder" bracket that helps support the spare tire.

I drew up a template, and the guys at Off Road Unlimited milled it out for me (no charge).

In this picture you can see the curved milled out slot in the back plate.

Here you can see the "Shoulder" bracket to helps support the Spare

Fitting into place

Blitz can installed

Re: Jerry Can Holder on Spare Tire

There are two bolts that hold the can bracket onto the backing plate bracket.

Very simple and straight forward...

Re: Jerry Can Holder on Spare Tire

Looks good!
I am waiting for this one though.
It will work with the stock rear tire mount, and the stock rack.
