Hey everyone. I know that many of you have been frustrated with the lack of install instructions. Expedition one has been growing fast and with that, has been the struggle to keeping up. We've been adding employees to help in hopes to free up more time for forum interaction and over all improvements in the function of the company. Unfortunetly with that comes some training time but hopefully some of the previous issues we've had will get worked out soon and the training wont slow us down.
To start if off we've now started an area on our website that will be full of good resources including install instructions. Comeing soon will be winch tips and techniques.
Right now you can see the latest revision for the bumper installation in there entirety
The stock bumper removal instructions are brief at best with no pics. I believe I have captured all of the steps needed to remove the stocker bumper and hardware, can someone take a look at the .pdf (has pics) and let me know if this is correct.
The instructions did not say anything about the bumper side support (step 3&4). I assume these are removed also.
I had a little trouble on the OEM bumper removal but everything else went well. Surprisingly so for how poor of a tool selection I have. My friend kept laughing at my Fischer Price tools set...

Ruebarb, I talked to James about them this weekend when I was installing them. He told me the same thing.
My personal opinion is to leave them on. The Expedition One bumper covers them. And leaving them on doesn't hurt anything. Taking them off is just needless work.
That's my 2 cents. Otherwise, that's a good PDF and one that anyone who needs to remove the bumper for any reason would find helpful.
A little consumer input here . . . while I was able to get my new front bumper and winch installed I had to figure some of it out on my own. The instructions are detailed in telling you how to remove parts and install the left and right mounting brackets. However, after that they are very abbreviated leaving much room for improvement. Also, nothing in the instructions informs you that the grill must be reinstalled prior to installing the bumper if a winch is mounted to the bumper. Wasn't an issue for me as the bumper was not tightened but I could see someone getting very aggravated if they had already tightened everything down.
Also, I had several fasteners left over with no apparent place to use them. Lastly, while the winch was purchased along with the bumper, Superwinch included four bolts that fit the bumper and reinforcement plate for mounting. However, no bolts were present of the correct size to bolt through the fairlead, bumper, and reinforcing plate. This necessitated a trip to the hardware store.
While the instructions could be improved upon, the bumper and winch combo is great and the workmanship on the bumper looks very good.
