Small mounting problem...

Hi All... I mounted my bumper today and while everything seemed go together ok, I noticed the alignment seemed a bit off.

The bumper is flush up to the sheet metal on the passenger side, but there's about a quarter inch gap on the drivers side. I have no idea how to fix this as there's no adjustment for fine tuning the fit... it's just 4 bolts on each side, plus the brackets.

Any thoughts?

Re: Small mounting problem...

Just mounted mine today, left everything hand tight til it was leveled. then torqued the bumper down, then the bracket, then drilled the 3/8'' hole so it is bang on. ahving the stubby and regular ratchet wrenches made a huge difference!

Re: Small mounting problem...

The rig is currently @ my shop getting the lift and wheel/tire package installed. I'm gonna get a look at it again in the AM, but it looks like the holes may have to be slotted slightly to get it all to align properly.

Re: Small mounting problem...

Mine seemed do do the same initally, but after loosening all the bolts and giving it a couple of good pushes, it leveled out and seems great. i waited a week or so and double checked all mounting bolts and the squareness of it before i drilled and mounted the through bolts.

Re: Small mounting problem...

Sorry I haven't been back in touch... it's been slightly hectic.

I had the bumper off to mount the winch and it does look as if I'll have to slot the drivers side. I was hoping a few good shoves would align everything...but no dice.

I'll let you know what happens when I pull it off again.
