Re: Expedition one front bumper w/o Bullbar

Mike, nice bumper - I'm ordering one today. Is that the "standard" powdercoat finish or the optional satin black which is about $100 more? Supposedly the new standard finish has a bit of a texture to it and has somewhat of a shine to it. I like the way yours looks, so want to know which it is.

I love the looks of that bumper without the extra bars. Can't wait to see it with your new tires.

Mike, OK cool, then I may just go with that. Is there a slight texture to it?

I don't notice much of a texture to it, seems smooth to me. Not sure if they changed their powder coating recently. you may want to ask James or Sarah.

let us know what you find out.

thanks, Mike

Re: Expedition one front bumper w/o Bullbar

Sarah is finding out for me. I hope you dont mind, I emailed your pictures to her as reference to what I want mine to look like. It sounds like they may have changed to a new powder coater within the last few weeks, so yours may the the "old original standard" if you know what I mean. When I originally placee the order, here is what Sarah gave me as options:

Our bumpers currently come in a textured black finish, but the texture is not too heavy and it does have a nice shine. Satin black powder coat is available, it would be a custom order and is approx $100 more.

I'll update when I hear back.

When did you order yours? I ordered mine 3 weeks ago. Wondering now what finish it'll have...

Keep us posted.

Re: Expedition one front bumper w/o Bullbar

I am ordering today, but Sarah is going to get me more info based on the pictures of Mike's above. So my order is really not placed yet. I do want it to look like above, not glossy. I guess it would be best to have some side by side pictures of the old, new, and optional satin - just so we can compare. I'm expecting it to match what I see on the website, which looke like Mike's.

If it was a $200 bumper, I would not worry much, but at this price I just want to make sure I'm getting the right thing so that I'm satisfied. After spending a week going over all of the brands, this is the one I like the best, obviously.

Thanks Desi, let us know. I would hope, in the future, when I get my rear bumper that it would have the exact same powder coat as the front!
