Re: Coming soon....

I think supplier/fabricator version of soon versus anxious fj owner version of soon just doesn't match. Seen it time and time again on hear. Someone tries to hype something up and then it drags and they lose any momentum. Not to take anything away fromthose w/ the talent and motivation to develop something new and bring it to market.

As they say, just my opinion.

Re: Coming soon....

It takes time to "prove" a product before it goes to market. Often times things are just slammed together and sold giving the manufacture a bad rap. Throwing a feeler out to gain interest to see if there is a market before investing $$$ makes sense and cents....Then again, thats just my opinion as well.

Re: Coming soon....

I'd buy into that theory a little more if there was more said then "new products coming soon" Without an real explanation of the product you can't be getting much feel for the anticipated market.

Could also say "We/I was thinking of developing X, would you be interested and what would you be willing to pay?" That would be market research. What was done here was not market research. I'm definitely not trying to pick on this vendor as I love their bumper, just more of an overall observation. I have noticed other products which took much longer to come out and some which never have after months & months of discussion....

Re: Coming soon....

Let's not forget that anything can happen between "Coming soon" and the availability date; The price of steel, suppiers, vendors, powdercoaters, anything....

Stuff like this doesn't happen often, because how would you feel if you did all the research and someone else took the idea and came out with it first? I've seen it happen before.

In this case, your talking about one product that has been in development for about 4 years. Its going to be produced no matter what, its just a question of if this market is going to wan't it. We we're planning on posting some pics on the forum about 2 weeks ago but spring hit, we had a week long trade show, and we just finished re-aranging our shop in order to fit the new demands we taking on. Plus we wan't to make sure the FJ rear bumper is ready to go and ship by summer, so its now top development priority....

any way were going to start a new thread about the product I just mentioned in just a few hrs...
